E-mobility: Gireve, the charging interoperability platform.

The problem

Gireve is the first B2B platform of electric mobility, with one of the widest coverages of charging points in Europe: its Connect Place solution connects charge point operators (CPO) and e-mobility service providers (e-MSP). But in a still-fragmented market, user journeys lacked consistency and slowed product adoption, in the middle of a product reorganization and a shift to agile, with no designer in place. Arriving first means laying foundations for those who follow.

The method

01 Map the stakeholders

First reflex on untouched ground: identify who does what. CPO, e-MSP, product, tech and business teams in the middle of a reorganization. A stakeholder map to anchor design where decisions are made, and to listen before drawing.

02 Lay the first bricks of the design system

Standards, starter components, conventions: the first bricks of a design system built to outlive its designer. In parallel, structuring the interfaces of the Clearing module, the verification of invoices between charging players: information extraction (number, period, issuer, amounts), contextual help, discrepancy handling.

03 Hand over, properly

Workshops with the business to co-build, then a complete handover: documented foundations and context passed to Eva Chanthapanya (Yeita), who then carried out a twelve-month mission on billing. PM-designer duo, in-depth discovery, DesignOps.

The outcome

Three months to lay foundations: stakeholders mapped, first bricks of a design system, a structured Clearing module. Then a complete handover to Eva, who carried out a twelve-month mission on these foundations and anchored a product culture around billing.
