The KYC reform at AXA France: centralizing the collection of supporting documents on a secure platform synchronized with Salesforce, for thousands of employees and millions of clients.
With the KYC reform, AXA France must guarantee client data compliance by rigorously verifying identities. Supporting documents (ID cards, contracts…) were collected product by product, without standardized security criteria: some tools even accepted uploads by URL without any identification. Collection had to be centralized on platforms synchronized with Salesforce, security and traceability reinforced, without degrading the experience, in an environment of thousands of employees and millions of clients.
Audit phase: personas to identify the roles involved in requesting documents, work with business teams and squads to map detailed journeys per product, and a macro-mapping of data flows to identify the convergence points of KYC compliance.
Secur'Axa, a secure platform already used for claims, chosen as the central KYC solution: protected access, standards compliance. Adapted to the different journeys through UX/UI co-design with the front-end developer, an incremental component evolution roadmap aligned with AXA France's new design system, and an API adaptation for subscription flows, with a transitional solution for agents during development.
An integrated OCR automatically reads document content: processing time cut in half, two thirds of documents validated on the first pass (accents and maiden names still requiring adjustments). User tests on Testapic with around ten participants to fine-tune the journey before launch.
Secur'Axa became the central KYC platform: fewer inconsistencies in client data processing, better traceability, an interface aligned with the design system, and a consistent information flow for more than 10 million records in Salesforce. The new security requirements slightly lengthened some journeys, a trade-off accepted in favor of compliance.
