Three years in BNP Paribas's Open Banking: APIs for 5 international entities, and Stellar, the design system co-created with the devs, across a dozen products. Joined as a UX designer, left as a product manager.
Open Banking enables financial institutions to share data through APIs. The Retail Digital Booster program's mission: develop APIs for BNP Paribas' international entities (France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Asia) to make use of data, optimize marketing campaigns and improve product life cycles. Within the Product Management squad, the role: keep UX consistent across the board, on products built by IT, far from real usage.
The work was to spot opportunities and show what the APIs brought to each entity, supporting squads on their quarterly roadmaps and coordinating dependencies between products (security, data verification). PI plannings were co-organized with the tribe's Scrum Master: demanding demos, and moments where business users questioned the squads directly.
A feedback framework brought teams back to real needs: product owners feed concrete feedback into development. When the programme expanded to cash management products with interfaces, the user experience was taken on for visual consistency and less product debt.
Stellar was co-created with Fabernovel's developers. Rolled out first on a pilot product, then extended to a dozen products, as a library available to developers.
APIs adopted by five international entities, a feedback framework that brought teams closer to end users, and Stellar rolled out to a dozen products.
